Stitch Fix September : Almost a Home Run

Another month of Stitch Fix and this one was so close to being a 5/5.  I couple of the tops were snug and just a little off.  Here's what I got:

1.  Just Black Dean Skinny Jeans in red ($78)
LOVE everything about these.  They look super cute and I hope I get a lot of wear out of them.

2.  Alice Blue Ranier Scoop Neck Blouse ($48)
I like this until I saw the picture.  It scream "Charlie Brown" and unfortunately that's all I see now.  Verdict: Returned.

3.  41Hawthorn Lana Lace Detail Blouse ($58)
Really pretty but was a little snug in chest.  Also, I really don't have anywhere I can wear this right now as it's a little too dressy for everyday wear.  Verdict: Returned.

4.  Bay to Baubles Fringe Necklace ($34)
I previously indicated that I didn't like the chains hanging on fringe necklaces and wanted one with bars.  Somehow that feedback was lost as I got another chain one.  The chains tangle easily and look/feel cheap.  Verdict: Returned.

5.  Shiraleah Fringe Clutch ($48)
Initially I wasn't too sure about the color, but I kept since I don't have any white bags.  I figure when the fringe goes out of style, I can always trim it down with scissors and have a plain white clutch.  Should make it a staple.

That's it.  Until next month...

Hanger to Home: Not Bad for a First Box

So I really didn't NEED to try another subscription box, but this one was just too tempting.  I kept a few things and will probably give them another try.

No personal notes like the other styling services though ;(

Outfit one:  The top was way too small and cut weird and the jeans were just ok (I liked the Just Black ones in another outfit better).  Not a huge fan of the earrings either.  Returned the full outfit.

Outfit 2:  This dress had real potential but I couldn't even get it on for a picture.  Way too small.

Outfit 3: Dress and necklace.  The shape of this dress was really weird and made me look extra wide. It also hung really low in the back.  The necklace was ok but I already have one almost exactly like it.  Both returned.

Outfit 4:  I was really town on the top, but since it's long sleeve I will almost never wear it here in Florida.  The Just Black destroyed jeans I LOVE!  Keeping for sure.  Returning the necklace and blouse.

Outfit 5:  Kept this t-shirt and Just Black jeans again.  I came super close to keeping the cross body clutch, but since it's diaper bag city around here I had to return.  There was also a really ugly necklace that was paired with this in the other pic below.  Not my style at all, but love the casual outfit.

Outfit 6:  This dress didn't flatter at all and the bracelet wasn't anything special.  Returned both.

I forgot about this necklace paired with the orange dress that didn't fit.  Not my style at all so returned.

That's it.  Until next time.

Jamberry StyleBox: August 2015

Come sail away!  That is definitely the theme for this month's stylebox.  Not excited about the sailboat decals, but the others are really cute.  Plus, I love it when they send a preview of the new designs.  However, I don't find that I use the single decals very often.  Oh well!

Baby Shower Favors Less Than $0.50 each!

Hi readers!  I'm working on jointly hosting a baby shower for a mom in our play group.  Since my daughter's first birthday is coming up, I don't have much to spend on other parties.  After searching Pinterest for ideas, I found this cute idea for budget-friendly shower favors.  Here's what you need:

Ikea tealights - $2.99/pack of 30 (about 10 cents each)
Washi tape - $2.99 roll (I made 30 candles and used maybe half the roll so this one is hard to price, will estimate at about 5 cents each)
Mesh bags - $1/pack of 6 (about 16.6 cents each)
"Thank You" tag using cardstock (didn't price this since I already had some at home)

Total cost per favor: $0.42 each!!! (for 2 candles)

What do you think?  Good?
