Ipsy Glam Bag August: I love this powder!

Hi everyone!  For anyone who might be interested in what comes in an Ipsy Glam bag, here's what I got in my Ipsy glam bag for August 2015.

1.  Hikari Lip Gloss
This color was terrible on me.  Fail.

2.  Beauty Without Cruelty Leave In Conditioner
I was excited about this one, but it smelled bad and left my hair kind of oily.

3.  Starlooks Luxe Longwear Eye Liner Pen
Love this one!  Goes on super smooth and lasts all day.  The pen design is really easy to apply.  My only complaint is that it was hard to blend.

4. Swissco Soft Touch Slant Tweezers
You can always use another pair of tweezers.  Bonus that these are pink!

5.  City Color Cosmetics HD Powder
I saved my favorite for last.  This powder has a amazingly smooth finish to make my skin look really good.  Will probably purchase this when I run out.

Bonus:  The cute zipper bag that held everything.

Stitch Fix August Edition: Pink, Gold, & a Little Black too

Hi everyone!  I'm usually pretty positive about stitch fix, until recently.  The change?  I went from a regular stylist to a different stylist every time.  I'm thinking there is a connection there.  For this fix, I asked for a pair of non-printer Margaret M Emer pants, a fringe necklace, and something pink or gold for my daughter's first birthday party.  Here's what I got:

1 & 2.  Margaret M Printer Emer pants and 41 Hawthorn Moni Stud Detailed Blouse
I really like the other Emer pants that I own, but these were just all wrong.  The print made my thighs look extra large and the fit was slightly different than my others (not really sure why).  I like this blouse but I already own a lot of black.  Trying to decide whether or not I should keep so I don't lose my styling fee.

3 & 4.  Zad Jamison Fanned Bar Necklace ($28) and Gilli Eloise Maxi Dress ($78)
Not too sure about this necklace.  It feels really cheap and lays funny but may keep so I don't lose my styling fee (if I don't keep the blouse).  The dress is just horrible.  It hits my waist wrong and makes me look pregnant (and I'm definitely not).  Did not make me feel pretty.

5.  Renee C Lahna Printed Dress ($78)
Just terrible.  Unflattering large circle print across my chest and horizontal stripes across my hips.  There is nothing good about this dress.  It also was cut too low under my arms so bra showed.

That's it.  Fingers crossed for better luck next month.  Until then...

Bathroom Cabinet Make Over with chalk paint: Before and After Photos!!!

Hi everyone!  Since the completion of my kitchen cabinet chalk painting project, I decided it was time to conquer the master bathroom as well.  Again, we have what I loving call "the builder's special" cabinets.  I decided to try and go darker using SW Virtual Taupe 7039 (similar to the AS color Coco).  Since it does have a little gray to it, I used a dark wax glaze over the top to add a little more brown.

Before Photo:

Drumroll.......

After Photo:

It took me a little while to get used to the dark color since my kitchen is white, but I'm happy with the results.  What do you think???

Bungalow Clothing Box: It's time to go our separate ways.

Hi readers!  I wasn't going to give Bungalow another try after my first box failure, but someone from the company emailed me and I agreed to try again IF I was given a different stylist.  So here's what I got in my second box and a few reasons why this one is definitely my last Bungalow box.

1 & 2.  Ella Moss Scoop Knot Top and Bella Dahl Sporty Short in black
I requested a pair of black shorts that I could dress up or down.  These were super comfortable for running errands with the kids so keeping these but will pair with a different top (see additional pics).  Not a fan of the Ella Moss top.  The tie in the fronts adds a little more bulk than I'm comfortable with post baby.  The shorts were my only keeper.

(Couldn't find my other shoe.  Oops)

3 & 4.  Ramy Brook Paris Shirred Top & Level 99 Lily Skinny Straight
I liked this top, but not the $100 price tag.  Just couldn't justify it for a top.  The jeans were just o.k.  Prior to receiving this box, I bought a really cute pair of Just Black skinny jeans for about $60 less than these so no reason to keep another pair.  Both returned.

5.  Sanctuary Beach Hut Shell in Limeade
Ok.  So here's the main reason I have no interest in another Bungalow clothing box.  I received the EXACT same skirt in my first box but in a different color.  I returned that one so not sure why they thought it was a good idea to send me another.  Or if they aren't keeping accurate records, then I'm really not sold on ordering from them again.

6.  Current Elliott The Muscle Tee in Mauve Galaxy
Not flattering color or shape.  Returned no question.  In addition, this shirt was priced at a whopping $118.  Yikes!

7.  Gypsy Cap Sleeve Hi Low Top in Anubis Black
Another overpriced t-shirt at $155.  Plus, it was way too long for my petite frame.  Returned.

That's it folks.  Goodbye Bungalow!  I only received 1 good pair of shorts out of two boxes so it's time to go our separate ways.

My First Golden Tote: Success!

Hi current and future Golden Tote fans!  I was really excited to try my first tote and ended up doing the $149 tote for more options and free shipping.  Don't you just love the cute tote bag that everything comes in?  And the elastic headband that everything is wrapped in?  Without further delay, here's what was in my very first tote:

1.  Surprise Item (picked for me by KB): Skies Are Blue Knotted Tee in Green
I LOVE this!  I love the color and fit.  Great for going to the playground with my littles or weekend casual.  Keeper for sure.

2.  Surprise item (picked by KB): Sugar Lips Pineapple Print Tank
I wasn't totally sold on the print, but the fit is good.  Keeping and will just have to figure out how to style it.  Any suggestions?

Here's the back.  I like that it's mostly black and not the print.

3. Chosen Item: Orange Brighten Up Dress
I like the bright colors on this one.  I paired it with a navy shrug and nude shoes for church.  Ended up looking very stylish.  Glad I picked it!

4.  Surprise item: Sugar Lips High Low Skirt
I won't be posting a picture of this one as it didn't fit in the waist or length.  Going to trade for another item.

5.  Surprise item: Mittoshop Tie-Dye Dress
I'm not a fan of this.  While comfortable, I didn't think the horizontal tie dye was flattering on my child bearing hips, and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to style it.  Trading this one.

6. Chosen Item: Sis Sis V-Neck Blouse in Navy
This ended up fitting well and matches a lot in a my closet.  Glad I chose it.

In conclusion, I was happy with at least half of my tote and will be ordering another one in the future. Make sure to check them out!

Stitch Fix July 2015 Part 2: Emers & Fringe!!!

Hi fellow stitch fixers!  This month I requested black shorts, a neutral short, a fringe necklace, and a pair of the famous Emers.  The stylist (a new one this time) listened.  Here's a few pics and the verdict.

1.  Zad Gilberto Loop Fringe Necklace
I really want a fringe necklace, but this one felt cheaply made.  It was chains hanging down instead of metal bars so it kept getting tangled.  Verdict: Returned while I hold out for the perfect fringe necklace.

2 & 3.  Margaret M Emer Printed Straight Leg Pants & Papermoon Bastille Tulip Sleeve Blouse
Honestly, I wasn't sure if these were worth the money.  However, I really love how they make me look so put together.  The blouse just completed this outfit and was reasonably priced.  Verdict: Kept both

4.  Dear John Finnegan Roll Cuff Chino Short
I've received these in a previous fix and didn't keep them then either.  These have zero stretch to them and are therefore really uncomfortable.  Verdict: Returned.

5.  Level 99 Kelvyn Cargo Short
Even though I received these in my usual size, they were huge!  I've also noticed that the tencel material stretches out really quickly (as in a few hours).  Verdict: Returned.

Next month, I'm requesting another pair of Emers, another fringe necklace, and something pink or gold to go with the theme for my daughter's first birthday.  Her birthday isn't until October, but don't want to wait until the last minute in case the next fix is a miss.  Happy shopping!
